Nationwide epidemic status

13.03.2020

Dear Sudents,

As you may already know, as of midnight on Saturday (14th March) – Sunday (15th March) full border closure will come into effect in Poland.
This means the following:

  1. full border control,
  2. non-Polish nationals will no longer be allowed to enter Poland,
  3. people allowed to enter [both Polish and non-Polish nationals] shall be put in obligatory 14 days quarantine under the penalty of 5 000 zlotys fine,
  4. all [international] transport is now suspended – flights, trains, buses,
  5. all bars, restaurant, malls, casinos and night clubs are now closed – take-away is still allowed,
  6. domestic transport remains as it was.

Restrictions will initially last 14 days with the possibility of extension for another weeks.

Each of you must make a decision – depending on your own idividual assessment of your own safety – whether to stay in Gdańsk or return home. Please bear in mind that your safety is much more important than any classes you miss. The break may last longer than two weeks. We cannot predict anything with much certainty. You can count on our continuous support. We will work even harder to make the online classes available as soon as possible.

To students remaining in the dormitories – please refrain from any visits and stay in the dormitories, preferably in your own rooms [besides critical conditions].

I wish you all peace of mind, a great deal of maturity and a bit of luck in these difficult times.
