During the pandemic MUGs students prepared face shields and face masks for medical professionals using 3D printers. Last week, this team met with students from Dental Technician studies to give them 100 face shields, which will help them protect themselves during their exercises.
The 3D Printing Workshop at the Department of Paediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Defects has been operating for over 3 years. Until now, The 3D Printing Workshop has been producing anatomical models used to educate students and parents, as well as to help doctors plan and practice unusual cardiological procedures. During the COVID-19 epidemic, a group of MUG students in cooperation with the Clinic’s scientists initiated the production of personal protective equipment like: visors, masks and medical equipment components, using 3D printing.
